THEATER AS A PHILOSPHY OF LIFE

Theater has always been our life, our reason to exist. Since the very first years, the stage has permanently been Nós do Morro’s  number one focus. In a process that we have developed day after day, with every experience, throughout these years, we have attempted to develop the research of a popular language for theater, using the musical abilities and natural way of our members. The result has been musical productions showing the strength, determination and talent of the troupe on the stages of the city.

Either be in Vidigal Theater, our theatrical space
built with a huge effort and renovated with the sponsorship from Petrobras, or in any theater of the professional circuit, our cast has always taken to stage the message that life is more beautiful if it is lived with art. As they watch plays such as Machadiando, Abalou, Noites do Vidigal, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and the latest plays
Two Gentlemen of Verona and Carmen de Tal,
the audience – a great deal of it shaped along the years by the very existence of the Group – leave the theater certain that they have witnessed a process of transformation
in their lives. Dedication, talent, joy and pride to be on stage. Discipline, organization
and a continual search for the quality of what we do collectively as a team. This is the philosophy of Nós do Morro which is taken everywhere the Group presents a work

In 20 years of life we have brought to the stage renowned texts from  national and international theatre, together with texts about the everyday life
of the community. Therefore, we alternated the presentation of authors such Martins Pena,
Ariano Suassuna, José Vicente and William Shakespeare; with the investigation of the expression of everyday life that allowed us to exhibit plays such as Biroska, Abalou, Noites do Vidigal and Burro sem Rabo, ou… These last plays were
the result of a work of research and development
of a more popular language for theater.
